This was an interesting project that we undertook. The requirement was to make a custom hanging lamp shade in dual layer (A reference image was provided for us). The customer did not take much time to choosing the fabric required for their project. It was a beautiful textured fabric in a very light cream color – Just one shade darker than off white. The decision on the dimensions were also make quickly enabling us to start the production work.
Interestingly the raw materials needed for the chosen dimension and fabric were already available with us enabling us to start the project right away. Usually we provide the customer a sample which once approved becomes the reference for the production team. This ensures that there is no deviation or inconsistency between what was approved and what was delivered.
As a process and policy, we accept 40% of the invoice value as an advance for two reasons.
- It confirms the order
- It enables us to procure the basic raw materials required to initiate the work.
Because we were already ready with the materials, our team got right into action and were able to deliver the 17 lamp shades in 12-14 days’ time. Usually the timelines committed for a project vary depending on few factors:
- The urgency from the customer side. Usually this is because there is a launch or a store opening and the products need to be delivered before that
- The time taken for getting the raw materials. Most bespoke projects require the frames to be fabricated as they may be of sizes / shapes that are not off the shelf. This usually takes 10-15 days’ time.
- Availability of chosen fabric and the time taken to procure the exact match material.
Based on these factors, we provide the customer we the timeline before the project starts.
That said, here is what the final output of the products look. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. The final installation, the magical tough of the interior designers, the placement of our hanging lampshades – All add an overall alluring look to the installed space. Another happy client and another project that allowed us to explore a newer variant to our existing product line. Take a look and do let us know what you think.
