This product requires a hole to be drilled in the bottle by the customer. The cable is not prewired to the holder and so the customer is expected to route the cable through the hole in the bottle and then connect it to the holder.

This cork stopper lamp kit is a DIY kit in the sense that you are required to know how to drill holes in the bottle and also how to connect the wiring to the bulb holder. The kit comes with the cork stopper unit with the bulb holder attached and a black cable with two pin plug. You are required to insert the open end of the wire through the hole drilled in the bottle and connect the exposed end of the wire to the bulb holder before inserting the stopper into the bottle mouth. Mount the lampshade that you already have onto the holder and your beautiful creation is ready for you to show off.

    The kit is half done. the stopper comes with two headed open ended wires which needs to be fixed by an electrician along with the plug. So what they claim the product to be DIY it isnt at all the same. Its better and cheaper to get it done from a local electric store. Needless to say the kit is overpriced. Not happy with the purchase.

    Looking at the picture, I ordered thinking that I will get a DIY kit which requires no drilling but unfortunately I have got a wrong kit which was delivered yesterday. I am wondering if it is possible to exchange it? I am willing to pay for the price difference. Will really appreciate a quick response.
